ExacqVision Licensing Guide

How to Find the Correct exacqVision Server MAC Address

The exacqVision license is generated for a recorder identifier based on the server network adapter. Official documentation instructs users to use the MAC address of the primary network adapter.

Where to look

  • Open the exacqVision Client and connect to the server.
  • Open the system or server configuration page and locate the license information.
  • Use the MAC address shown in the license information whenever possible.

Formatting

A MAC address contains 12 hexadecimal characters, commonly displayed as six pairs such as 00-1A-2B-3C-4D-5E.

Multiple network adapters

Official license retrieval guidance recommends the first or primary adapter when multiple NICs exist. The best practical choice is the stable identifier already shown in the licensed server information.

Virtual servers

Ensure the virtual NIC uses a stable MAC address. Do not regenerate or replace the adapter after the destination license has been issued.

Original Exacq hardware

The original server serial number can help identify the licensed system when the MAC address is unavailable or hardware has failed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Wi-Fi MAC?

Use the stable primary adapter associated with the licensed server, not an incidental or inactive interface.

Do hyphens matter?

Licensing forms commonly accept the standard hyphenated format; preserve all 12 hexadecimal characters.

What if the old server is dead?

Provide the original Exacq server serial number and any saved license documentation.

Can I change the destination NIC later?

Changing the licensed identifier may require another licensing action, so keep it stable.
