ExacqVision Licensing Guide
What Is an exacqVision Software Subscription Agreement (SSA)?
The Software Subscription Agreement records the period during which an exacqVision server is eligible for software updates. It is part of the server license information rather than a separate application.
How Exacq licensing works
Official Exacq information states that each recorder uses a license file unique to the recorder MAC address. The license records the feature level, maximum camera count, and software updates purchased.
Installing an updated license can extend the software-update period without reinstalling the server software.
What SSA provides
Eligibility to run exacqVision releases covered by the licensed update period.
A defined path to bring an older eligible system to a current version through the correct SSA product.
Professional and Enterprise
Professional systems use Professional SSA products.
Enterprise systems use Enterprise SSA products. The edition must be verified before ordering.
Expired SSA
An expired SSA does not normally stop the currently licensed server from operating on its existing version. It limits eligibility for software releases published after the licensed update date.
Before a server-license transfer, the correct SSA must be current.
Frequently asked questions
Does expired SSA stop recording?
SSA controls software-update eligibility; it is not a recurring camera-channel license.
Can I install the newest version with expired SSA?
Only versions covered by the licensed software-update period should be installed.
Does one SSA cover every server?
SSA is applied per licensed server.
Which SSA do I need?
Match the SSA product to the server edition: Professional or Enterprise.
