ExacqVision Licensing Guide
Troubleshooting exacqVision License Activation
When a license does not apply as expected, first compare the issued license details with the server license-information screen. Most activation issues can be isolated without changing the server installation.
Verify the destination identifier
Compare the licensed MAC with the server MAC shown in exacqVision. A license generated for another adapter will not represent the intended server.
Confirm the edition
Professional camera licenses and SSA products cannot replace Enterprise products, and vice versa.
Check channel count
Confirm whether the order quantity represents additional channels and verify the new maximum camera count after loading the license.
Check software-update eligibility
If the server software is newer than the licensed update date, apply the correct SSA entitlement before relying on that version.
Retrieve the current license
Use the official Exacq license retrieval tool with the correct MAC address or original server serial number.
Avoid repeated infrastructure changes
On virtual systems, do not recreate the network adapter or alter the licensed MAC during troubleshooting.
Escalation information
Provide the server MAC, serial number, edition, installed version, current license screenshot, activation code or order reference, and the exact error message.
Frequently asked questions
Should I reinstall the server software first?
No. Verify licensing data before reinstalling. Official Exacq information states that loading a new license does not require software reinstallation.
Why does the channel count not change?
Confirm that the license was generated for the correct server and that the camera-license edition matches.
Why is the license valid but the update is blocked?
The desired software version may be outside the licensed SSA update period.
Where can I retrieve the license?
Use the official Exacq license retrieval page with the recorder MAC address or serial number.
