Illustra Cameras with Free ExacqVision License

Selected Illustra Pro and Flex cameras (Gen3 or later) include a free exacqVision camera license. The license is not purchased – it is declared online and issued instantly, so no EVIP-01 / EVENIP-01 license is needed for these cameras.

Conditions

• exacqVision server version 24.03 or newer
• Server must be “Built By Exacq” (original Exacq / Johnson Controls hardware)
• The server must have an active Software Subscription Agreement (SSA)
• The camera model must be on the eligible list below

Step 1 – Check your exacqVision version and SSA

The free license requires exacqVision version 24.03 and above and an active SSA. To check both:

1. Open the exacqVision Client and click the Configuration (gear) icon.
2. In the tree select your server and open the System page. The Server Version is shown at the top.
3. Open the License tab – it shows the license type (Professional / Enterprise), the server MAC address and the SSA expiration date. You will need the MAC address in Step 3.

Step 2 – Update exacqVision if it is older than 24.03

Server updates are only possible while the SSA is active (the SSA must cover the release date of the version you install).

1. If the SSA has expired, renew it first so the server has one year of valid support:
   • Professional server: SSA-PRO-C (update to the current version, per server) + SSA-EVIP-01 (1-year SSA, one per licensed camera channel)
   • Enterprise server: SSA-ENT-C (update to the current version, per server) + SSA-EVENIP-01 (1-year SSA, one per licensed camera channel)

2. Download the exacqVision Server and Client installers from the Exacq downloads page (also available in our Tools → Legacy Downloads menu) – choose the version for your operating system.
3. Install the server update on the exacqVision server (the service restarts during the update), then update the Client. Check the version again on the System page.

Step 3 – Declare the free Illustra license

1. Open the official declaration tool: ipkeydb.com/IPLic/declare
2. Enter the server MAC address from the License tab (use ETH0 if the server has several network ports) or the server serial number.
3. Fill in the dealer and end-user details and submit – the license key is generated instantly and can be printed or downloaded as a PDF.

Step 4 – Activate the license on the server

1. In the exacqVision Client open Configuration → System → License tab.
2. Click Import License and select the license file, or paste the license key into the key field.
3. Click Apply. The camera channel count on the License tab increases immediately – no server restart is needed.
4. Add the Illustra camera under Add IP Cameras; it now uses the free channel.

List valid as of 25 September 2026 (83 models). The authoritative list is maintained by Exacq at ipkeydb.com and may change – always verify there before ordering.

* IFS16-M10-BT03 (Flex ONVIF Multisensor) is excluded from free licensing.

Not eligible or need more channels?

If the server is not Exacq-built, runs an older exacqVision version, the SSA has expired, or the camera is not on the list, a standard camera license is required: EVIP-01 for Professional or EVENIP-01 for Enterprise servers. An expired SSA can be renewed for one year with SSA-PRO-C + SSA-EVIP-01 (Professional) or SSA-ENT-C + SSA-EVENIP-01 (Enterprise).
