exacqVision Licensing Glossary

Use this glossary when reviewing quotations, license-information screenshots, or server-migration requests.

EVIP-01

One additional exacqVision Professional IP camera channel.

EVENIP-01

One additional exacqVision Enterprise IP camera channel.

EVIP-TRANSFER

The server-license transfer product used to move an existing license to a new MAC address. Current SSA is required.

SSA

Software Subscription Agreement. The server license records the software-update period purchased.

SSA-PRO-C

Professional software-update product for the applicable current-version transaction.

SSA-ENT-C

Enterprise software-update product; pricing and configuration are provided on request.

MAC address

The hardware identifier of a network adapter. Exacq licensing uses the recorder identifier associated with the primary adapter.

Server serial number

The manufacturer serial identifier of original Exacq server hardware. It can assist with license retrieval and system identification.

Professional

The exacqVision server edition using EVIP-01 camera licensing and Professional SSA.

Enterprise

The exacqVision server edition with additional enterprise-management functionality, using EVENIP-01 and Enterprise SSA.

License file

The file unique to a recorder that describes feature level, camera count, and software-update entitlement.

Frequently asked questions

Is SSA the same as a camera license?

No. Camera licenses set channel capacity; SSA sets software-update eligibility.

Is a MAC address the same as an IP address?

No. A MAC address identifies a network adapter; an IP address is a network address that may change.

Is EVIP-TRANSFER an extra server license?

No. It transfers an existing server license to another identifier.

Why are Professional and Enterprise products separate?

They apply to different licensed feature levels and must match the server edition.
